We woke up in the Chilean Fjords! What a sight to see!
There was a VERY competitive game of Baggo going on in the atrium between guests and staff. Let me tell you, those folks were dang near professional! We certainly stayed FAR AWAY from all Baggo playing for the rest of the day! The best we could do was watch!
We attended a talk about dolphins and whales! We learned A LOT about dolphins and whales, and the speaker announced that he had already spotted some off the side of the ship! SAY WHAT? (I vowed to follow him around for the rest of the cruise as he was “The Man in the Know!”)
We returned to our room to find this! YES, it was my BIG BIRTHDAY today! Mike has coined this trip, “The 212 Cruise,” because John and I turn 70 and Patte turns 72 on it! Ready or not, I got to go first!
A bit later, I got to relax in the spa,
while John hit the steam room, the snow grotto,
and, finally, the cold bucket drop! 😂😂😂
We eyed the full game tables on the floor below us as we walked to the “The World of HMS Wager” presentation, about a ship wreck years ago that happened in the very waters we were sailing. We felt like we were back in college at a lecture, however, it was actually very interesting!
We returned to the Scrabble game table and played a partial game, before we left for the Atrium to join the Captain for a reception for past Viking guests! It was lovely! We enjoyed champagne and appetizers and some really good music!
We had booked a dinner at the specialty Italian restaurant, Manfredi’s, for dinner tonight, and it was outstanding! (Beware: Here come the obligatory food photos!)
After dinner we went to our Cruise Director, Tyrone’s, show. Wow, could he sing!
And after that show, John and I visited the Torshavn Lounge, where we listened to a guitar player named John. Could he play! And sing! What a great way to end a memorable day!
Yes, it’s official! I am now a certified SEPTUAGENARIAN. In twelve days, John will also join the club and Patte’s birthday is on the 15th. Lots still to celebrate!
On that note, BUENAS NOCHES, everyone!
