CEMETERY OF RECOLETA AND FLORIDA STREET BROWSING!

We woke up and it was the very last day of our “Journey To The End of The World.”  After John returned from having coffee with an old work buddy, we decided to spend it in (you are not going to believe this) A CEMETERY!

Cemetery of Recoleta is the home of the world’s largest mausoleums!  We saw that a Norah Lange was buried there, so the big search began (she simply had to be a long lost relative of Patte and mine)!  We found her, but only after a lot of looking and some help from Mike and one of the attendants!  (John and I are rethinking our burial plans to include, perhaps, a tiny house!)

We searched high and low through the maze of a cemetery,

and finally found Eva Peron’s burial site.  The “Don’t Cry For Me Argentina” lady!  Her story is fascinating (for more information, Google it)!

The cemetery was something else, but we all needed a beer after all our searching!

We found the perfect spot for lunch and a brewski right across the street called, Buller Brewery!  (An answer to our prayers!)

Then off to people watch (live ones this time) on our favorite Florida Street.  Patte and Mike picked up some last minute souvenirs while John and I meandered around the area!

Dinner (our last one in Buenos Aires besides tomorrow night’s airport food 😳) was at Piegaris.  It was highly recommended at John’s coffee this morning and was walking distance from our Airbnb!  It was located under a viaduct where several restaurants were (weird, but what a great idea) and was ever so charming!

Patte and John both enjoyed a Caipirinha,

while Mike and I chose one of the country’s renowned Malbecs!  DELISH!

And the dinner— WOWOHWOW the food was SO GOOD!  The steaks were FABULOUS—Argentinian beef really is “the bomb!”

It was a memorable FINAL dinner under that viaduct
and a memorable LAST day spent in a cemetery!

BUENAS NOCHES, everyone!
