THE JOURNEY BACK TO THE GOOD ‘OL USA!

 Our bags were packed,




but we were NOT ready to go!


We spent time (lots and lots of time) at the airport before we could finally check in for our flight!


We checked in, checked our two-wheelers, made it through Security, and were in the Lounge at long last where we ate, drank and were merry!!!



It wasn’t long (drinks all around and dinner too) before we were at our gate waiting to board!  Our Captain oh Captain played a little ditty before heading to his seat on the plane to fly us back to the US of A!!


We enjoyed an uneventful flight from Buenos Aires to Houston.  Then a two hour flight from Houston to Tampa.  Followed by an hour Uber ride from Tampa to Bradenton!

We did it!  We “Journeyed To The End Of The World” and made it back safely and soundly!  Memories were made and pounds were gained!

TOURING MAIPO VALLEY CHILEAN WINERIES!

We boarded a large touring van, after numerous cups of delicious coffee, and headed into Chile’s wine country!  We drove past some magnificent street art (sorry, couldn’t capture pictures from the bus—hope to walk by some later?) and beautiful landscapes! This was our first glimpse of a Chilean vineyard with the mountains as a backdrop!  Can you say “AMAZING”? FIRST STOP: VINA UNDURRAGA WINERY The tour of the winery, the grapevines, and the grounds was amazing!  And then we drank FOUR WINES (for breakfast)! SECOND STOP: SANTA EMA WINERY Santa Ema was a beautiful and modern winery.  We walked around the grounds admiring the views and then we drank THREE WINES! THIRD STOP:  LUNCH AT ZIN FANDEL! We each had scrumptious lunches here (that were actually dinners)!  We were all happy for that as we had lots of morning wine to soak up!   Mike was very perplexed by this sign (it was in the restroom)!  He came back to the table, showed everyone this picture...

BIG RED BUS, GONDOLA AND FUNICULAR RIDES IN SANTIOGA, CHILE

We arrived in Santiago, Chile ahead of schedule, after a night of minimal sleep (if any), but after plenty of hours of relaxation in pretty comfy seats (thanks, United)!  (I take that back!  It’s true for three of us!  Mike, however, had a thirty-something-year-old BOY sitting next to him in the window seat that drank glass after glass of wine and needed to crawl over him SEVEN TIMES to go to the bathroom!  His night on board the plane was NOT relaxing!!! 🤣🤣🤣) We dropped our luggage off at the Park Plaza and hit the streets where Mike saw A Big Red Tour Bus drive by!  We all decided that would be the perfect way to kill time until our rooms were ready! This was the first place we drove by, I kid you not— a McDonald’s!  To say Patte’s eyes were a dancing with visions of a large Micky D’s Diet Coke in her head would be putting it mildly!  (She got one but not until way later!)
